What is Nautis?
Nautis is a digital sailing logbook. It records a voyage in the shape of the RYA Personal Logbook (G73): the position, the conditions, the passage detail, and the note you write at the time, kept together in one entry. It runs on iOS and Android, works offline, tracks the route by GPS, and can share a trip live with anyone ashore.
What it was like.
Most sailing apps record where you went. Nautis records what it was like.
The route is the easy part. Every GPS app draws the line. Nautis keeps the conditions, the sea state, the pressure, and the words you wrote at the time. Structured fields in the entry, not a caption under a map.
It's built around the log you take, not the track you leave.
Nautis is for sailors who keep a record. The student building sea time toward their RYA qualifications. The cruiser who wants more than a line on a map. The family ashore, following a passage live through On Watch.
If you write down what happened out there, Nautis is built for you.

The name is Latin. Nautis, for the sailors.
Nautis is built by Louis Levy, a software developer. He made it for his father, a sailor who spent two years working through his RYA courses and qualifications, keeping his sea time on paper. Nautis is the logbook built for him, and for everyone who keeps the same record.
What is the RYA G73 logbook?
The RYA Personal Logbook (G73) is the Royal Yachting Association's published logbook for recording sea time and the passages behind RYA qualifications.
What is On Watch?
A way to share a trip live by link. Anyone ashore follows the route and the log as it happens, with no app and no account.
Does Nautis work offline?
Yes. Everything you record lives on the device and syncs when you are back in signal.
What does Nautis run on?
iOS and Android.
Nautis is in early testing on iOS and Android. If you would like to take part, email [email protected].
